Wrist sprain massage therapy TorontoWrist Sprain & Post-Fracture Wrist Rehab
Two related situations on one page — a wrist sprain, and rehab after a wrist fracture. Sprains can come with fractures, but not always.
Not a diagnosis — for more information, contact me or another trusted healthcare provider.
For either, we manage pain first, then build stability, mobility and forearm strength to get your hand back into action through home care and exercises. Contrast therapy helps both, and hands-on techniques are case-specific. If you have a fracture, you'll need to be cleared by a doctor before coming in — if you're not yet cleared, I'll work on the forearm but stay away from the wrist, keeping it in whatever brace your doctor provided.
What I Focus On
- Pain Management
- Stability & Mobility
- Forearm Strength
Typical course: Sprain: 2–6 weeks. After fracture: 6–12 weeks of rehab once the cast comes off.
See your doctor first (important)
After a fall onto your hand, pain in the hollow at the base of the thumb can mean a scaphoid fracture. It's often missed on the first X-ray, so get it checked even if it feels like a sprain.
