Shoulder impingement massage therapy TorontoShoulder Impingement
Covers both AC joint impingement (a sharp pinch at the end of the collarbone) and supraspinatus impingement (pain at the front or side of the shoulder when lifting overhead) — hard for non-clinicians to tell apart, so they share a page.
Not a diagnosis — for more information, contact me or another trusted healthcare provider.
Movement patterning for lat and lower trap engagement during pulling exercises draws the shoulders back, while deep tissue through the pecs, upper back, shoulders and arms and AC joint mobilizations loosen things up. Where posture is involved, I bring in the upper cross approach too. Results are consistently good in my experience, with chronic cases recovering more slowly than acute ones — in many cases, discomfort is eliminated within a couple of weeks of treatment and dedicated home care.
What I Focus On
- Movement Patterning
- Deep Tissue Work
- AC Joint Mobilization
Typical course: 2–6 weeks; longer for chronic cases.
